Who we are
This policy describes how Bag Jam (“we”, “us”) handles information in the Bag Jam mobile game and on bagjam.appbird.ai. Contact us at bagjam@appbird.ai with questions or privacy requests.
Information we handle
We are responsible for the personal information we decide to collect and use. This policy describes our practices; it does not itself provide consent to processing that requires a separate choice.
- Game information: progress, settings, items, and gameplay activity. Some information is stored on your device. Game events may be sent to analytics or attribution services when those features are active.
- Player profile and leaderboards: the player name and avatar you choose, your level and game statistics, and, where online leaderboards are available, your weekly wins, an approximate country, and when you were last active in the game (rounded to the minute). Your name, avatar, level, statistics, rank, and last-active time are shown to other players on leaderboards. You can change your name at any time in the game. We keep level completion records, including timing and attempt details, to run fair competitions and detect cheating. A random credential stored on your device identifies your installation to our game servers; it is not your name or account.
- Device and usage information: device type, operating system, app version, IP address, approximate location inferred from IP address, app or installation identifiers, and information about interactions and technical errors. Advertising identifiers may be processed where allowed by your device permissions and applicable consent requirements.
- Crash diagnostics: crash reports, stack traces, app and operating-system versions, device information, and installation identifiers when crash reporting is enabled. These help us identify failures and understand how many installations are affected.
- Purchases: product, transaction, and purchase-status information needed to provide items and help with billing issues. Apple processes App Store payments; we do not receive your full payment card details.
- Support: your email address and information you choose to include when you contact us.
- Website requests: our hosting provider processes network information, such as IP addresses and requested pages, to deliver and secure this website. This website does not load advertising or analytics scripts or set its own tracking cookies.
How we use information
We receive information from your use of the game and website, from messages you send us, and from providers reporting transactions, installs, ads, or technical events. An installation identifier can distinguish one installation without including your name; it may still be personal information.
We use information to run and improve the game, save progress, deliver purchased items, troubleshoot problems, answer support requests, prevent fraud, and understand how players find and use the game. Where advertising is available, information may also be used to deliver ads, measure ad performance, and limit repeated ads.
Services and sharing
Information may be processed by service providers that help us operate the game and website. Features and providers can vary by app version, platform, region, and privacy choices:
- AppsFlyer for attribution and measurement of installs and game events. Game events sent to AppsFlyer include the player name you chose, so we can recognize your profile in our measurement and messaging tools.
- Our own game servers for online features such as leaderboards, weekly competitions, and rewards.
- Google Analytics for Firebase for gameplay and usage measurement when analytics is enabled, and Firebase Crashlytics for crash diagnostics when crash reporting is enabled.
- AppLovin MAX, Google AdMob, and participating advertising partners when advertising features are enabled.
- Apple for App Store distribution and purchases, and Amazon Web Services for website hosting.
We may also disclose information when necessary to comply with law, protect people or our services, or as part of a business transfer subject to appropriate privacy protections. Advertising partners may process information under their own privacy policies. We do not provide support correspondence to advertisers for ad targeting.
Your choices and rights
You can manage app tracking permission on iOS in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking. Declining permission limits the tracking covered by Apple’s permission system; it does not necessarily stop all operational data processing. Where additional consent choices are offered in the game, you can use them to manage the relevant processing.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your information, object to or restrict certain processing, withdraw consent, and complain to your local data protection authority. You may also have a right to opt out of processing treated as a sale, sharing, or targeted advertising under local law. Send requests to bagjam@appbird.ai. We may need to verify your request and will respond within the period required by applicable law.
To remove your leaderboard profile, including your name, statistics, and last-active time, email bagjam@appbird.ai with your player name and the approximate date you last played. You can also choose a different name in the game at any time; other players then see the new name.
You can ask us to stop processing that is optional or based on consent. Email bagjam@appbird.ai if you cannot find a relevant control or need help. A device tracking choice does not automatically delete earlier information or change every analytics or advertising setting.
Where applicable, you may use an authorized agent and request review of a denied request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights. Tell us the type of request and enough context to find the relevant records; do not send passwords, card details, or identity documents unless we explain why a secure verification step is necessary. If we cannot identify information relating to you, we will explain that limitation.
This website does not run cross-site advertising or analytics, including when your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal. App advertising and its privacy choices are separate. Whether particular ad disclosures count as a “sale”, “sharing”, or targeted advertising depends on the data use and applicable law.
Legal grounds
Where a legal basis is required, we process information necessary to deliver requested game features, purchases, and support to perform our agreement with you. We rely on legal obligations for required records and lawful requests. Security, fraud prevention, and proportionate troubleshooting may rely on legitimate interests after considering your rights. Optional measurement, device access, and advertising rely on consent where required. You can withdraw consent without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.
Retention and deletion
Retention depends on the purpose and type of record. Local progress remains on your device until it is replaced or removed through the app or device’s storage controls. We retain support correspondence while handling your request and for any justified follow-up or dispute period. Purchase records may need to remain for accounting, fraud prevention, or legal obligations. We assess continuing need rather than retaining information indefinitely simply because it was collected.
Leaderboard profiles and competition records are kept while your installation remains active in online features, and weekly results are kept so rewards can be delivered and disputes resolved. When you ask us to remove your profile, we delete it or make it no longer identifiable, subject to backup deletion cycles.
Analytics and attribution records follow the retention configuration for the relevant service. Crashlytics currently documents a 90-day retention period for crash traces and associated identifiers before removal from its live and backup systems begins. See Firebase’s data-processing information. Contact us for the retention criteria or settings applicable to a specific request.
When information is no longer needed, we delete it or make it no longer identifiable, subject to required recordkeeping and backup deletion cycles. We handle requests involving our processors with those providers; linking to their policies does not replace our responsibility for information processed on our behalf.
Deleting the app may remove its local data but does not automatically delete information already processed by us or our providers. Device or cloud backups may retain copies according to your settings. Contact us before deleting the app if you need help with your progress.
Children
Parents and guardians should review the game’s age rating and supervise use and purchases as appropriate. Age ratings describe content suitability and do not replace applicable privacy or parental-consent requirements. If you believe we have collected a child’s personal information without legally required permission, contact us. We will investigate and, where required, delete the information and take steps to stop the collection.
International processing and security
Our providers may process information outside your country, including in the United States, where protections may differ. Transfers that require a legal safeguard must be covered by an applicable adequacy decision, approved contractual protections, or another lawful mechanism. Contact us for information about safeguards relevant to your data. We use reasonable measures to protect information, but no storage or transmission system is completely secure.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the game or our practices change. The date above identifies the latest update, and we will provide additional notice or request consent when required. For questions, email bagjam@appbird.ai.
